Small animal fostering

If you can’t commit to the lifelong care of a rabbit, hamster or guinea pig but would love to live with one then becoming a small animal foster parent can be a great option. At The Bunnyjackpot Foundation we don’t have an animal centre, so we rely on our amazing team of fosterers to provide space for our many intakes of rescue rabbits, hamsters and guinea pigs.

Foster homes provide a temporary safe space for rescued animals until they are adopted by their forever family. Foster parents are an integral part of rescue, as they help to rehabilitate neglected small animals by allowing them to feel loved and cared for – possibly for the first time.

If you have space in your home, you’re within easy access to a vet and you’re happy to provide litter and food for any animals fostering with you then you have all that you need. We will provide you with pens and other items for you to foster with if you don’t have them already.

Absolutely! We’re a tight knit group of fosters and small animal lovers here at The Bunnyjackpot Foundation, so as long as you’re willing to learn about the best husbandry for your fosters, we’re here to help. Even those of us who have shared our lives with rabbits, piggies, hamsters and rats for a long time are learning every day.

Although Bunnyjackpot HQ is in Wiltshire, we rehome rabbits, guinea pigs and hamsters across the UK to anyone who is willing to travel to us, and so our foster homes can be based anywhere too.
